Our Story

Our Love Story

Picture of Our Love Story

Brian and I both attended college together at Nebraska Wesleyan University. If you asked us how we met, we’d both tell you a different story. I remember meeting Brian during the soccer season, since he played for the men's team. But he insists that I had no idea who he was at the time and that we met in our economics class during our sophomore year. We sat next to each other in class and became good friends that year, which led us to be partners on our final project. We both almost slept through our final presentation. I remember running to class and noticing Brian was also running. I'm sure you can all attest to how frantic and flustered we were, knowing we almost slept through our final and showed up underdressed in sweats, haha. Luckily, the teacher loved us (Brian), and we got an A. Summer came, and I went back to Colorado, and he stayed in Nebraska.

Not thinking much of it, our junior year rolled around, and his fraternity hosted a back-to-school party. He invited me, and you can say the rest is history. Soon after the party, he asked me out on our first date to get ice cream. Fast forward five years, now looking back on our relationship, it wasn't always easy. Brian went to law school on the East Coast, while I have been working in Colorado as a project manager for JLL. Thankfully, I worked remotely, so I was able to travel to Virginia often to see him. I know it sounds cliché, but I can confidently say that distance makes the heart grow fonder.

Brian proposed to me on October 22nd. He made dinner plans at the North 40 Steakhouse in North Platte. On the way to dinner, his brother Kevin called, claiming his car broke down at the ranch and he needed us to help him. Of course, I wasn't pleased and pushed back to have someone else go jump his car. Despite my reluctance, Brian insisted on helping Kevin, so we drove deep into Box Elder Canyon, and it turned out to be the most magical evening. He proposed at sunset on top of the canyon and secretly packed a picnic with champagne and snacks to enjoy after. Within several days of the engagement, Brian found out that he passed the bar, and we will be stationed at Offutt AFB in Omaha, NE, which is such a blessing.

Our relationship has been joyful, adventurous, and fun. We consider ourselves lucky to be each other's best friends and biggest supporters. Brian and I can't wait to begin our life, which is and will always be centered around Jesus.

We can't wait to celebrate with all our family and friends on our special day as we become husband and wife!
